STIRRUP TURNING INSTRUCTIONS
THE EASIEST AND BEST WAY TO TURN YOUR STIRRUPS IS TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS BELOW. THE BACK OF THE FENDER AND ALL OF THE LAYERS OF LEATHER THAT HOLD THE STIRRUPS NEED TO BE WET WITH A SPRAY BOTTLE OF WARM WATER. WATER IS WHAT MAKES LEATHER "REMEMBER" - THIS IS HOW WE MOLD THE LEATHER FOR THE POMMEL AND CANTLE, SO IT WILL NOT DAMAGE THE LEATHER. DO NOT SPRAY THE FRONT OF THE FENDER BECAUSE THERE IS A PROTECTIVE COATING THAT WILL PREVENT THE WATER FROM ABSORBING, ONLY WET THE BACK AND FOLLOW THE INSTURCTIONS BELOW
1) Remove the stirrups from the fender
2) Take a spray bottle of warm water and spray the back of the fender
3) Continue spraying until you have sprayed all of the layers of leather behind the fender that hold the stirrup
4) Put the fender back on
5) Take the fender and turn firmly with both hands until it is actually past where you want it set- go up and down the fender with your hand several times to mold the fender in the correct position
6) Take a broomstick and place in the stirrup to keep it in the turned position until it is dry. I do both fenders at the same time and put the broomstick holding both fenders. Usually they will dry overnight, but in cold or damp weather you may need to repeat
